• Spunchem Africa, was established in 1995 with the Plant being the first of its kind in Africa.

• Manufactures of Polypropylene thermal point bonded Spunbond with the raw material being supplied by two local producers, namely Dow Polymers and Sasol Polymers ensuring continuity of supply.
  
  
• The current plant achieved full capacity in 1995 and is capable of producing up to 3200 tons per annum which will be increased to 8000 tons per annum from April 2001 with the addition of a new plant.
  
  
• Spunchem is strategically positioned for the export market by being situated in Durban - one of the largest shipping ports in Africa.
  
  
• Applications include hygene products (diapers, fem-care etc); medical apparel; automotive; quilting; bedding; agriculture; mining and roofing to name just a few industries.
